Rautionmaa Farm

The Rautio farm uses the completely revamped Optima 2.0 system.

Finland’s first Optima 2.0 grain drying control system was commissioned in August 2021 in Punkalaidun, at the Rautionmaa agricultural cooperative’s farm.

The farm has been cultivated since the mid-19th century and is now run by the fifth generation of the Rautionmaa family, brothers Kalle and Martti.

With the generational change that took place in 2019, the farm took bold steps towards the future. More land was added to the cultivation area, and today the farm grows wheat, barley and rye on approximately 80 hectares.

Kalle and Martti Rautionmaa
: “With the growth of our farmland, the old method (freight drying) was no longer sufficient for us, so we decided to invest in our own dryer.

“There were already users of Antti in the area, and we had heard nothing but good things about them.”

The brothers chose Antti-Teollisuus as the supplier for their grain dryer. All they needed was a basic device to control the drying process.

We were initially interested in the Optima system, but Antti’s representatives told us about the new 2.0 version, which we now have here. We are the first in Finland to have it,” says the younger of the brothers.

Optima 2.0 has only been in use on the farm for a few weeks, but despite the new technology, its implementation has not been challenging for the young brothers.

“We received commissioning instructions from Antti’s representatives, and the touchscreen control panel is quite simple to use.”

Of the new additional features offered by Optima 2.0, the brothers chose automatic filling and Optivol automatic underfill to make their daily work easier.

No need to rush to the dryer again for no reason, the machine takes care of it,” Kalle chuckles.
